Max Lurie - Owner of Alpine to the Max
Max Lurie is an American Mountain Guides Association certified Rock and Alpine Guide, as well as an accomplished alpinist. Max has been climbing since 2004 and traveling to the greater ranges in pursuit of his passion.
As an independently certified climbing guide based in Boulder, CO, Max provides custom education and mountain experiences in the Colorado Front Range and beyond. All of the climbing instruction offered through Alpine to the Max is customized to your goals, objectives, and skill level.

Note: This curriculum is designed for beginner mountaineers with no prior experience. The course can be customized for participants with varying levels of experience. Participants are required to bring appropriate gear for the course, including warm clothing, mountaineering boots, crampons, ice axes, and ropes. Additional equipment can be provided upon request.

No prior experience is required, but familiarity with basic outdoor skills is recommended. This course is specifically designed for the beginning mountaineer.
By the end of the course, you will have the knowledge and skills necessary to embark on safe and successful mountaineering adventures. You will also have a deeper understanding of safety considerations, equipment use and care, and risk management in mountaineering.
Participants should be in good physical condition and able to hike for 20 min with a light backpack over rough terrain and possibly snowy terrain.
All of our courses, guiding and offerings are completely customizable. This course can be a single day to a full five consecutive days depending on how much you want to invest in your mountaineering knowledge.
That depends on what skills you already have and what your goals are. However, the typical curriculum includes: mountaineering-specific equipment, cramponing, self-arrest, knots/hitches, and belaying.
