Max Lurie - Owner of Alpine to the Max
Max Lurie is an American Mountain Guides Association certified Rock and Alpine Guide, as well as an accomplished alpinist. Max has been climbing since 2004 and traveling to the greater ranges in pursuit of his passion.
As an independently certified climbing guide based in Boulder, CO, Max provides custom education and mountain experiences in the Colorado Front Range and beyond. All of the climbing instruction offered through Alpine to the Max is customized to your goals, objectives, and skill level.
This single-day multi-pitch rock climbing experience with a guide is designed to give participants a taste of the thrill and beauty of multi-pitch climbing, while ensuring their safety and providing expert guidance throughout the climb. It is perfect for adventurous individuals or two people looking to experience the outdoors in a unique and exciting way.
Sample Itinerary:
8:00 am - Meet the guide at the designated location. The guide will conduct a safety briefing, provide an overview of the day's itinerary and hand out any necessary rental equipment.
8:30 am - Begin the approach to the climb. This may involve hiking or scrambling over uneven terrain, so participants should be prepared for a moderate level of physical activity.
9:00 am - Arrive at the base of the climb and begin setting up the equipment. The guide will provide instruction on how to properly wear a harness, tie knots, use the belay system and communicate effectively as a team.
9:30 am - Begin the climb, starting with the first pitch. The guide will lead the climb, setting up the anchors and belays along the way. Bringing you up each pitch.
11:00 pm - Take a break at a belay station to rest, hydrate, and enjoy the stunning views from the cliff.
12:00 pm - Continue the climb, tackling the remaining pitches with the guidance and support of the guide.
1:00 pm - Reach the top, enjoy the views, take some photos, and celebrate with a sense of accomplishment.
1:30 pm - Descend the cliff using rappelling techniques and reach the base safely.
2:30 pm - Return the equipment and say goodbye.

Yes, it is safe to climb with a certified and experienced guide. The guide will provide the necessary instruction, equipment, and safety measures to ensure a safe and enjoyable climb.
Mountain weather can change quickly and become unpredictable. In case of inclement weather, the guide will make a decision on whether to reschedule the climb or cancel it. Participants will be notified in advance of any changes. If weather moves in during your climb, the guide will facilitate a quick descent to safety.
Wear comfortable and stretchy clothing that allows for easy movement. Dress in layers that can be added or removed as the temperature changes. Also, wear climbing shoes that fit properly and offer good traction. We suggest a sun hoodie and lightweight long pants.
